92 degrees today, but the plants are doing well. Our son was on watering duty this morning, and gave the soil a good soaking. This afternoon when I got home, things were looking parched & a little droopy, so I gave the garden another good soaking. Fingers crossed… Technorati Tags: Garden, gardening
Well, 24 hours have passed, and everything still seems to be alive… Technorati Tags: Garden, gardening
After a first-thing-in-the-morning trip to the garden center, and a few hours planting time, involving 3/4 of the family, this is what we have: The other 1/4 of our family was working today, but he did haul wheelbarrows full of dirt to fill the boxes. Unfortunately, there are no pictures to commemorate the occasion. I [...]
Ooooh-gotta love a spinning tool which Jack Bauer would love… This is my first combed roving-not bad for a first try: I doubted that it would be as easy as just pulling the fiber off the combs and through the diz (the hole in the diz is SO small!), but it was! First impressions? The [...]

I hate Mondays…especially when said Monday starts off around the freezing mark, and is supposed to hit only 50 – a perfect November day, except for the fact that IT’S FREAKIN’ MAY! Ahem-sorry. I didn’t want to get up this morning, I’ve only had 1 cup of coffee, and I’m sitting in traffic. UPDATE: Well, [...]
Saturday was fleece day – hot, sunny & relatively dry. Here’s one before washing: And, into the wash! 2 batches going at once: 2 washes, 3 rinses and a few hours of drying time later, it’s soft, fluffy & smells clean and just slightly sheepy. I didn’t bother trying to preserve the lock structure – [...]
